Jesus didn't come to reinforce empty religion. He came to reveal the Kingdom of God. In Matthew 12:1–21, Jesus confronts the religious leaders and challenges their understanding of what it means to honor God. As Lord of the Sabbath, He reveals a Kingdom marked by mercy, restoration, and grace—not simply religious rule-keeping.
